The one trick to help users and customers get accustomed to your innovation

Innovations always have something new. That's the nature of the beast. That's why it's often difficult to bring them to the people.

Even if, they can gain something like time or money, they often stay in their old patterns.

A new phone in the workplace can seem encroaching. Even if the operation of the new phone is very similar.

The trick to quick adaptation is to build on behaviors or activities that people are doing anyway. Maybe just in a different context.

The Segway example is one that illustrates this quite well. The walking devices have not caught on. Getting on an axle and rolling off (rather than walking) was quite unusual. Many people were uncomfortable with the idea of standing on such a thing and controlling direction and speed only with a stick.

The electric scooters that are now available in many large cities have no adaptation problem. Everyone still knows how to handle the scooter from childhood. Well, that now some electric assistance is on it, does not change much in the basic use.

Therefore, make it easy for your customers or users to get used to the innovation by simply working with familiar patterns.
