The creation of a convincing strategy

Developing a convincing strategy is something that the ancient Greeks were already grappling with. It is worth continuing to cultivate this skill, because as soon as things change, some strategic thinking can help.

Strategy addresses an issue that you want or need to address. It can be an opportunity, like artificial intelligence, or a challenge, like geopolitical tensions or energy prices.

The answer must be actionable, that is, within the realm of what is feasible. In other words, not based on daydreaming or overconfidence (although sometimes that helps, too). It must be able to work.

Nevertheless, assumptions are always put into the formulation of the strategy. A strategy is a bet. The outcome is not certain. Therefore, it is desirable to deal with the assumptions.

The assumptions themselves depend on the options considered. And these again from the imagination and the previous experiences and observations.

In the end, one chooses the option for which there are the most convincing arguments.

And there one is again with the old Greeks.

What is needed?

Observational skills Understanding of people, trends, technology Integrative thinking Ability to ask questions Exchange Listening To puzzle with thoughts Questioning Willingness to implement Willingness to redirect when assumptions are not correct Collaboration

Have fun!
