Why are startups better at innovation than corporates?

Actually, it appears to be unlikely that a startup without an established customer base, without established value creation processes will successfully bring innovations to the road faster than large companies with many resources. But they often do...

There are several reasons. E.g.

  1. Startups don't have as many hierarchies. The percentage of employees who deal with customers is higher. Decision-making paths are shorter.
  2. Startups don't have a reputation to lose at first. They find it easier to experiment.
  3. Startups have a blank sheet of paper in front of them. They can break rules and don't need to consider existing business.

Nevertheless, large companies can also build an innovation machine. They just need to create the right framework.
